As preparations for the new semester continue, full-time faculty members and lecturers of the Department of Communication Research (DCRes) convened for a Faculty Assembly focused on curriculum quality, academic standards, and course development.
The assembly opened with a discussion of DCRes’ academic programs and the frameworks that guide its design and evaluation. Prof. Ma. Rosel San Pascual, PhD, led a session on Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) and the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework, highlighting their role in ensuring that courses, assessments, and program outcomes remain aligned with departmental and university goals.
Faculty members and lecturers also participated in a Syllabus Development Workshop facilitated by Asst. Prof. Jasmine Sabirina Rombaoa, MA. The workshop provided an opportunity to review course plans, refine learning outcomes, and strengthen the alignment between classroom activities and assessment strategies.
The assembly forms part of the department’s continuing efforts to strengthen its academic programs and ensure that courses remain responsive to the evolving needs of communication research education.
